Product Summary
The SAA7826HL is a CD audio decoder IC which combines the function of the SAA732X IC with the pre-amplifier and laser control functions previously found in the TZA102X IC. The design is intended to reduce the external component count and hence the Bill Of Material (BOM).
Parametrics
Absolute maximum ratings: (1)VDDD, digital supply voltage: internal rail: -0.5 to +2.5 V; external rail: -0.5 to +4.6 V; (2)VI(max), maximum input voltage any input: -0.5 to VDDD + 0.5 V; 5 V tolerant pins: -0.5 to +6.0 V; (3)VO, any output voltage: -0.5 to VDDD V; (4)IDDD, digital supply current per supply pin: 20 mA max; (5)ISSD, digital ground current per supply pin: 20 mA max; (6)Ves, electrostatic handling voltage: : -2000 to +2000 V at Human body model; -200 to +200 V at Machine model; (7)Tamb, ambient temperature: -40 to +85 ℃; (8)Tstg, storage temperature: -55 to +125 ℃.
Features
Features: (1)Decoder and servo parts are based upon the SAA732X design (the original features are maintained); (2)Software compatibility is maintained with the SAA732X by using a similar register structure (new features are; (3)controlled from new shadow registers); (4)1×, 2× and 4× speed; (5)LF (servo) signals converted to digital representations by 6 oversampling bitstream ADCs; (6)HF part summed from signals D1 to D4 and converted to a digital signal by a data slicer; (7)On-chip buffering and filtering of the diode signals from the mechanism for signal optimization; (8)Selectable DC offset cancellation of quiescent mechanism voltages and dark currents; (9)On-chip laser power control (up to 120 mA) ; (10)Laser on/off control, including soft start control (zero to nominal power in 1 ms); (11)Monitor control and feedback circuit to maintain nominal output power throughout laser life; (12)Dynamic element matching DAC with minimum external components; (13)DAC performance of -80 dB Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise (THD + N) and 90 dB Signal-to-Noise; (14)Ratio (S/N) A-weighted; (15)Separate left and right channel digital silence detection available on the KILL pins; (16)Digital silence detection on internal data and loopback (external) data; (17)5 versatile pins, 2 inputs and 3 outputs; (18)Integrated CD text decoder with separate microcontroller interface; (19)Dedicated 4 MHz or 12 MHz clock output for microcontroller (configurable); (20)Configured for N-sub monitor diode; (21)On-chip clock multiplier allows the use of an 8.4672 MHz crystal or ceramic resonator; (22)The M1 version has an EBU mute function which allows independent muting of data being transmitted over the; (23)EBU interface whilst maintaining the SPDIF frame structure.
